Now you can use serial cables to program from your laptop. Connect your receiver and laptop with this USB-to-serial port adapter.

Please follow the instructions below to set the right COM port:
Setup Instructions
STEP 1: Install the Software
- First, download and install the driver for your version of Windows (see above)
- Note: there are separate drivers for Windows XP and Windows Vista
STEP 2: Plug-in the Hardware
- Connect the USB-to-serial adapter to your PC's USB port, and follow the on-screen instructions
STEP 3: Set the Right COM Port
- Right click on MY COMPUTER then click PROPERTIES
- Click HARDWARE, then DEVICE MANAGER
- Double click PORTS (COM & LPT), and look for PROLIFIC USB-to-SERIAL Comm Port
- Double click that to open it
- Then click PORT SETTINGS, then ADVANCED
- Change the COM PORT NUMBER to COM1
- Then click OK
- If you get a warning message, click YES
- Then click OK, and close DEVICE MANAGER
- Finally, restart your PC
